Clinical Guidelines

Clinical guidelines are systematically developed statements designed to help practitioners and patients decide on appropriate healthcare for specific clinical conditions and/or circumstances.

Leeds Health Pathways

Leeds Health Pathways contains guidelines from all Leeds Healthcare Trusts and other organisations including the Yorkshire Cancer Network, NICE and various professional bodies. 

Leeds Health Pathways is a clinical decision support system that provides a gateway to all essential healthcare-related information across the Leeds area.

Leeds Health Pathways provides access to extensive information on local clinical services, locally developed and ratified clinical guidelines for use in both primary and secondary care, referral routes and clinical guidance development tools.

The site is split into the following sections:

There are two versions of LHP available:

NICE Guidance

NICE guidance - evidence-based recommendations developed by independent committees, including professionals and lay members, and consulted on by stakeholders.

TRIP

The TRIP database is a free resource which aims to deliver the highest quality literature to support evidence based practice. Sign in with your OpenAthens account to access the Pro version. The content includes evidence-based guidelines from throughout the world.

SIGN

The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network develops evidence based clinical practice guidelines for the NHS in Scotland.
